This policy covers gosolarcare.com, the Solar Care app, our phone and text line, and the service we provide. "We," "us" and "our" mean BC Solar dba Solar Care Monitoring, a family-owned company in Boulder City, Nevada.
The short version
- We collect what we need to care for your solar system, and nothing more.
- Only our team uses your information. We never sell it.
- We never share your phone number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their marketing.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
What you tell us. Your name, phone number, email, service address, and details about your solar system and what you need, when you call, text, email or book with us.
Your system's information. When you become a member and give us access, we connect to your system's monitoring so we can watch it 24/7. That can include production, equipment status, alerts and equipment details like brand, model and serial numbers.
The Solar Care app. If you use our app, it keeps some information of its own. See The Solar Care app below.
Service records. Inspection reports, notes, photos of your equipment taken during a visit, quotes, invoices and your Shield plan.
Power bills. If you send us a power bill for a bill check, we keep it with your other information. You can cover the account number before you send it. We only need the usage and the dates.
Payments. When you pay us, the payment is handled by a payment processor. We don't store full card numbers.
This website. Like any website, our host receives basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type. This site doesn't use advertising cookies or tracking tools. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.
How we use it
- To monitor your system and call you when something goes wrong.
- To schedule visits, inspect, repair, clean and maintain your system.
- To send quotes, reports and invoices, and to run your membership.
- To compare what your system made with what your home used, when you send us a power bill.
- To help with warranty claims on your equipment.
- To answer your questions and keep records the law requires.
Who sees it
Your information stays with our team. We never sell it or rent it. We share it only when we have to, and only the part that's needed:
- Equipment manufacturers, when we file or follow up on a warranty claim for you.
- Companies that help us run the business, such as our website host, phone and email providers, payment processor and scheduling tools. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- The new owner of your home, if you sell it and the membership transfers. They receive your system's service history, not your personal contact or payment details.
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Totals on our website. Our website shows rounded, anonymous totals from the systems we monitor: energy produced, the number of systems we watch and issues caught. Each total combines at least 10 systems and never includes a name, address, location or any one home's numbers.
The Solar Care app
Our app is coming soon. This part covers the Solar Care app for iPhone and Android. The rest of this policy applies to the app too.
What the app keeps.
- Your name, phone number, email address and service address. You sign in with your email address.
- Your system's ID on its monitoring platform, and your system's production and status data, so the app can show how it's doing and alert you.
- The install year and panel brand, if you add them.
- Your alert settings, such as which alerts you want.
- A code from your phone that lets us send you notifications.
- Your membership status. If you pay online, a payment processor handles the payment and gives us a reference for your account with them. We never see or store your card number.
What the app doesn't do. It has no advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell app information. If it shows weather tips, the weather service receives only a rounded location, never your name or address.
Who sees it. Only our team. Companies that run the app's hosting, sign-in, notifications and payments for us may use the information only to provide that service. Apple and Google deliver notifications to your phone.
Deleting your app account. You can delete your account in the app, or ask us by phone, text or email. Deleting it deletes the app information above. Texts and calls
If you give us your mobile number, we may call or text you about your system, your appointments and your account. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts at any time, or HELP for help. Your mobile number and your consent to receive texts are never shared with anyone for their marketing.
Keeping it safe
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and only team members who need it to serve you can see it. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever learn your information was exposed, we'll tell you as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you're a customer or member, and after that for as long as we need it for records, warranties and the law. When we no longer need it, we delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Call or text (702) 560-6719 or email info@gosolarcare.com. We may need to confirm it's you first. Some records we must keep by law, and we'll tell you if that applies.
Nevada residents: we don't sell personal information. You can still send us a request about the sale of your information at the contact details above, and we'll answer it.
Children
Our service is for homeowners. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we'll tell you first.
